Frequently asked questions
Are the paintings originals or prints?
Every painting is a hand-painted original: acrylic on canvas, built up into a real relief with palette-knife and foil techniques. There are no prints, no reproductions and no AI-generated works. Every motif exists exactly once; sold paintings stay visible in the portfolio.
Do I get a certificate of authenticity?
Yes, every original comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by me, in German and English. For the larger paintings it’s A5 on deckle-edged paper with my logo blind-embossed: the front lists the title, year, dimensions and technique, the back tells the painting’s story. Pieces from the Fokus series get a business-card-sized certificate with the same details, just without the story.
How much does an original cost?
Between €50 for a piece from the Fokus series (20 × 20 cm) and €300 for the large formats. The price is shown on every work page and is final: as a small business under Section 19 of the German VAT Act, I don’t charge VAT. Only shipping is added, and it doesn’t apply if you pick up in Berlin.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
Within Germany, shipping costs €6.50, €7.50 or €8.50 depending on size, plus €3 to €4 for each additional painting in the same parcel. I ship within 1–3 working days; delivery usually takes 2–5 working days. All details are on the Shipping & Returns page.
Can I pick up the painting in Berlin?
Yes. Choose “Pick-up by arrangement” in your request; we’ll agree on a time in Berlin and you can pay in cash. That way you see the original with your own eyes and save the shipping.
How do I pay?
For direct requests by bank transfer, PayPal or in cash on pick-up. You only pay after I’ve confirmed availability by email; you never enter payment details on this website. On Etsy, payment runs through Etsy as usual.
Can I return a painting?
Yes. You have a 14-day right of withdrawal from receipt of the painting; you bear the cost of sending it back. The exact terms and a model withdrawal form are on the Shipping & Returns page.
Do you ship abroad?
Direct orders ship within Germany only. To the UK I deliver through my Etsy shop. I currently don’t ship to other countries.
Do you paint commissions?
Yes. If you have a room, a mood or a colour in mind, or you like one of my paintings and would like something in that spirit in a different size, write to me via the contact form. I reply personally, usually within 24 hours.
